Date: 21st Mar 2017 5:30pm – 21st Mar 2017 7:30pm Venue: ASPI. L2, 40 Macquarie St, Barton, ACT
The Australian Strategic Policy Institute's Counter-Terrorism Policy Centre is pleased to announce the launch of the Counterterrorism Yearbook 2017.
Duncan Lewis AO DSC CSC, Director-General of Security, will launch the Counterterrorism Yearbook 2017.
This landmark publication is the first in what will be an annual report by ASPI examining the global state of counterterrorism.
While terrorist attacks and terrorist-based conflicts attracted headlines around the world throughout 2016, the significant efforts to prevent and counter terrorism often get less publicity, Varying threat, legal, political and social environments also mean that it's sometimes challenging to compare between countries and regions. This Yearbook aims to assist information sharing and awareness of counterterrorism globally,
Fifteen respected contributing authors expertly examine trends and developments in terrorism and counterterrorism in those countries and regions most affected in 2016, and Dr Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, Sixth President of Indonesia, provides the preface to this inaugural work.
The Counterterrorism Yearbook 2017 is an indispensable resource for those interested in terrorism, counterterrrorism, national and internal security and broader international relations.
The launch event will include presentation of some of the key issues and themes identified in the Counterterrorism Yearbook 2017, followed by a moderated question and answer session.
